BA Furniture & Product Design
When designing, I prioritise originality, quality and usefulness. I always look for the alternatives. The design is just as important as its surroundings and I am driven to optimise spaces so they work in a unique and fulfilling way.
Being open minded, straightforward and interested inspires my projects.
Field Storage & Work System:
Low profile storage and work-boards designed for the at-home working space.
Boost your organisation and spontaneity with customisable & portable self-preset work-boards which make setting up and packing away your workspace more efficient. Curate personalised preset boards and use them interchangeably throughout your day depending on task or mood to achieve the advantages of a more immediate & adaptable working style.
The workspace is changing. Workspaces need to be adaptable, but optimising and changing up your workspace is time consuming. Field storage allows you to curate a personalised set of adaptable preset environments to help manage your day. This makes Field Storage a valuable accompaniment to any workspace.
The design includes a set of uprights and tiers. Each tier features an interchangeable storage insert and a detachable work board with a choice of surface finish (cork, felt, matte, whiteboard).
Tiers are clamped onto the uprights and are fully height adjustable.
Deployable Structure
This deployable structure is intended as a highly functional lamp for indoor and outdoor use.
It has a series of attachment points which mean it can be anchored to a variety of surfaces to suit a spirited lifestyle.
The focal point of the design is its ability to be adapted to many different functions or activities. Opening the lamp can be likened to a parasol: individually articulated fins control the overall shape of three paper fans which expand into a variety of positions and an impressive overall size which is circular. The overall footprint is derived from the size of the bulb so as to be as compact and optimised for transport as possible.
A selection of decorative and interchangeable paper fans fulfil an element of personalisation. Notably, the delicacy of the paper which is folded as a concertina is protected by the cast-aluminium shell to prevent wear and tear.
Virtual reality was used for the iterative development of the lamp which has led to a highly calculated outcome.
