Learning from the craft of traditional upholstery to inform new design. Creating a naturally sustainable product through these old techniques and materials. Moving away from modern, unsustainable plastic-based materials.
Shorn
Shorn is a range of placemats and trivets crafted from 100% British wool. Honouring wool?s rich heritage the Shorn range utilizes the natural fibres stain resistant and heat protective properties to their full advantage. Creating a serve ware that is non scratch and machine washable.
Using natural dyeing processes, that date back to the neolithic period, to authentically colour the fibres. A more environmentally friendly solution to current harmful textile dyeing processes. As well as being able to be applied to a circular process with the woollen weave being able to be shredded and recycled back into yarn that can be used again, up to 20 times forms before weakening.
