BSc Product Design

Leo Bachllerie

Having always been a tinkerer and someone who loves to make modifications to things, product design allows me to explore this to the fullest. Throughout university and placement, I've had the opportunity to develop a wide range of products and have found a particular interest in those involving both textiles and packaging.

With food delivery companies including Deliveroo struggling for profitability despite record order numbers it is clear there is a flaw within their business model. This backpack aims to make their operations more efficient and to reduce food waste by giving the riders the tools they need to reduce spillages and damaged food when making deliveries.

By adding internal features such as pockets, straps, and cup holders they can secure any kind of meal they expect to deliver throughout their shift. Due to the self employed nature of these modern day couriers an emphasis has been put on the ease of use of these features as well as their safety and comfort when out on the road which are areas current backpack designs overlook.

Helmet Display Packaging

An all-in-one packaging and display solution for cycle helmets. Through the designs versatility it can be used to create a more varied and engaging as well as provide an opportunity for additional tailor-made model specific marketing can be placed directly in front of the customer. This can include highlighting a products key features, showing them professional rider or influencer endorsements or even QR codes showing them additional information about a product. Encouraging the trying on of the helmet through the easy to reach for and grab design it is more likely to be taken into consideration when shopping for a new model.
